仙人掌

So today I wanted to have my title in French, or Spanish, Or Czech, or German, but what I wanted it to say it was all a cognate. So here I decided on traditional Chinese.... anyone know what it means? Cactus. 'Nuff said.
For those of you that are not familiar with Maine topography, we have harsh winters, and mild summers. Summers normally stay around 70-80°f (21-26°c)during the day and cool down to 45-50°f (7.2- 10°c) at night. Winters get even worse. During the day (when it isn't snowing, which is like never) it can be anywhere from 10- 30°f (-12-0°c) and at night could be from 10 to -15 (-12 to -26°c).
So after church, my mom, dad, sister, and I went to Home Depot. My mom needed to pick up some spray paint and seat cushions, and the rest of us were just dragged along. Upon crossing through the gardening section, I saw a section on in house plants. I looked through them not really looking for anything, then I saw some cactuses. I'm extremely clumsy, so I didn't think me and a prickly plant would be a good mix. I had a plant in my room about three years ago that I killed because it was delicate, and I kept on forgetting to water it. But, then I read the label of the cactus. It said that it was durable, and only needed to get watered about once a month. Perfect. I then read the price tag, $3.99. And above all else, it's cute, and give my room some flavahh :). So I asked if I could get one, my mom rolled her eyes and said yes. My sister got one too. I have a lamp for it, since the sun in Maine isn't really that strong, and it's still cold enough outside that I need a jacket.
My sister named hers, which is a little sad since she's almost 18, but then again we were acting like 4 year olds begging for a plant.
So here is the little guy, and he just might have made my Sunday:
