Kiss of death.

So I had to go to the doctors right. I had to go for another reason but I wanted them to check out my ankle. Long story short, I fell down some stairs and rolled my ankle, I kept on dancing on it. It stopped hurting as much but it never stopped hurting, it also never became unswollen. That was 7 weeks ago so I thought "Shit, I'm here anyway, why not have them check it out?" so my doctor looked at it, she didn't feel anything wrong, but she saw the swelling and gave me an x-ray for the hell of it. She basically told be to ice it and get better shoes.
So yesterday she called, looking for my mom but got me, and she said "So I think you have scar tissue on the back of your ankle, very common in dancers, so I would suggest getting physical therapy. We thought we saw some splintering of your bone, but we don't think so."
So my dad picks me up today, and I knew that the doctor was going to try and talk to my mom again so I ask "Did mom talk to the doctor?" "No, I did" "And?" "And they looked at your x-ray again. the splintering they saw was actually your muscle covering up your bone because your bone is pushing into it, causing the swelling. On your plate there is an overgrowth. That might need surgery. If it does, 6 weeks in a cast, or 10 in a boot. We're going to a specialist so they can have a look."
My dance recital it June 5th, if I can't do it, lets just say hell hath no fury.
Now that I know whats going on, I'm now so keen on my ankle. I can feel the bones rubbing against each other. The sharp pain when my muscle is being pushed. I hope they will at least try and do physical therapy first, but at the same time, I don't want to hurt myself more. As of right now, it hurts to go on pointe, but I'm hoping just to lay low in practice until recital, then stop for a month?
I also hate the idea of surgery. Had them before. Being forcefully unconscious, being cut open, and then having my bone shaved? no thank you.
I'll update this after I go to the specialist. Dr. Buckley. Hope he/she isn't a creeper.
