So I went to the specialist doctor today, fearing the worse since my general doctor found an overgrowth that may or may not need surgery. So I went to the doctors, and my dad and I had to fill out about 10 papers. So we go into the room, I had to take off my shoes, blah blah blah. The guy walks in, and he pulls up my x-ray and grabs my ankle. He pointed out the overgrowth, but he said that I shouldn't get surgery now since that wasn't causing any of the pain. He began shifting my ankle back and forth really fast. It hurt, but whatever. He said that I did sprain my ankle, even though my dance teacher and mother told me I hadn't. So, he said that sprains depending on how bad they are could take up to 3 months to heal. He said mine looked like it wouldn't heal for about 3 months. He also said that if the swelling doesn't go down in 3 months that I need to get an injection into my ankle tendon and begin physical therapy. He said I should get surgery, but I could choose when, so I get to work around my dance competitions.
You kinda can't see the grayish box in the middle x-ray, but that's my overgrowth.
